"Strangers become Friends"
In the context of the project “Strangers become Friends”, international students are paired up with “godparents”, or host families, from Erfurt. Since 2002 Citizens of all ages and social classes take part as hosts: they can be individuals or families, employed and unemployed people, retirees or young people, and members of various parties and organizations.
A cooperation of Universität Erfurt, Fachhochschule Erfurt, Stadtverwaltung Erfurt and Thüringer Institut für Akademische Weiterbildung e.V.

With a ceremonial act did the Faculty of Economics, Law and Social Sciences celebrate her 10th anniversary. At 3rd november 2010 guests from politics and sciences as well as staff members of the university of erfurt, students and alumni came to the Audimax to congratulate the faculty. Furthermore took part: Dr. Holger Poppenhäger (Minister of Justice Thuringia) and the speaker Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Wolfgang Schluchter (Heidelberg), Prof. Dr. Gunnar Schuppert (Berlin) und Prof. Dr. Arno Scherzberg (Erfurt).
