Submission to HISTORIA

HISTORIA is a refereed journal. All manuscripts are subjected to a double blind peer review.

A manuscript submitted to the journal or the Einzelschriften monograph series must be your own work. It must be ready for publication (we cannot accept partial or draft versions), and formally consistent (while there is no need to adhere to a house style, we expect the manuscript to be rigorously consistent in its structure, its system of references, and its bibliographical data). Please use a Unicode font (like "Palatino Linotype" or "Gentium") for all Greek or other non-Latin words or passages. If you use a different font, please add the font file (usually a *.ttf file). 

All manuscripts for the journal must begin with a 100-word abstract and must be fully anonymized (you must refer to yourself only in the third person; please replace a vote of thanks with an asterisk at this stage). Only manuscripts for the monograph series need not be anonymized. Please send the manuscript (and, if required, all further files) as a data file (or files) attached to an e-mail to historia@uni-erfurt.de. The submission will be acknowledged by e-mail. If you do not hear from us, please resend your email.

All manuscripts are evaluated by two experts (double blind peer review). Their vote informs the editorial board's decision, which can lead to acceptance, rejection, or suggested revision. Again, e-mail is used to inform the author of the editorial board's decision.

We aim to complete the full process within 3 months after receipt of the manuscript, and expect that you have not submitted the manuscript elsewhere, and will not do so, until you have received Historia's decision.

If a manuscript is accepted, we ask for a file containing final version (with a 100-word-abstract at the beginning or the file and name, full address including email at its end; a vote of thanks can be added or reinstated). If your manuscript requires illustrations, you must supply written confirmation for every single image that you have been granted the rights to publish the image.

The author receives page proofs as a PDF file sent by email; we ask for a careful and speedy formal check (new material cannot be included at that stage). The contribution will then be published in the next available fascicle.

The number of offprints (for the journal) and of author's copies (for the Einzelschriften) is agreed upon individually. Both the journal and the monograph series are published without a a print subsidy.

Hinweise zur Manuskripteinreichung

HISTORIA ist ein "refereed journal". Alle Beitäge unterliegen einem anonymen Begutachtungsverfahren ("double blind peer review").

Ein Manuskript, das für die Zeitschrift oder die Einzelschriften-Buchreihe eingereicht werden soll, muss abgeschlossen (wir nehmen keine vorläufigen oder unvollständigen Versionen an) und formal konsistent sein (es ist nicht erforderlich, einem "Hausstil" zu folgen, doch muss das Manuskript in seiner Gliederung, seinem Beleg- und Verweissystem und seinen bibliographischen Angaben in sich vollkommen einheitlich sein). Bitte verwenden Sie einen "Unicode"-Zeichensatz (wie "Palatino Linotype" oder "Gentium") für alle griechischen oder anderen nicht-lateinischen Wörter und Texte; wenn Sie andere Zeichensätze benutzen, legen Sie bitte den "font file" (*.ttf) bei.

Alle eingereichten Manuskripte für die Zeitschrift müssen mit einer Zusammenfassung im Umfang von 100 Wörtern beginnen und müssen vollständig anonymisiert sein (Bezugnahmen auf eigene Arbeiten nur in der 3. Person; eine Danksagung muss durch Sternchen ersetzt werden). Nur bei den Einzelschriften ist eine Anonymisierung nicht erforderlich. Bitte senden Sie das Manuskript (und nötigenfalls alle weitere Angaben) als Anlage ("attachment") zu einer e-mail an historia@uni-erfurt.de. Der Eingang wird per e-Mail bestätigt; erhalten Sie in angemessener Zeit keine Bestätigung, fragen Sie bitte nach.

Jedes Manuskript wird von zwei Fachleuten anonym begutachtet (double blind peer review); deren Voten gehen in die Entscheidung des Herausgebergremiums ein. Der Begutachtungsprozess kann die Annahme, Aufforderung zur Überarbeitung oder Ablehnung des Beitrags ergeben; auch hierüber wird per e-Mail informiert.

Wir bemühen uns darum, die Entscheidung innerhalb von 3 Monaten nach Manuskripteintrag zu finden. Wir erwarten, dass das Manuskript nicht andernorts eingereicht ist oder wird, bis eine Entscheidung der HISTORIA gefallen ist.

Wird ein Manuskript angenommen, erbitten wir eine Datei mit der Endfassung (mit Namen, Anschrift und Danksagung). Wenn Illustrationen notwendig sind, müssen Sie für jedes einzelne Bild die schriftliche Publikationsgenehmigung der Rechteinhaber beilegen.

Sie erhalten danach per e-Mail eine PDF-Datei als "Druckfahne" mit der Bitte um sorgfältige und zügige formale Korrektur (neues Material kann dabei nicht mehr eingetragen werden). Der Beitrag wird dann im nächsterreichbaren Faszikel publiziert.

Bei der Zeitschrift wird die Zahl der Sonderdrucke, bei den Einzelschriften die der Belegexemplare vorab vereinbart. Sowohl die Zeitschrift als auch die Einzelschriften erscheinen ohne Druckkostenzuschüsse.
