Sufi Reform in Eighteenth Century. Case Study: Khwaja Mirdard
This research is going to pursue the challenge of Sufi reform in eighteenth century by 1- studying Khwaja Mirdard, the prominent Sufi and theologian of Delhi, as the representative of various trends inside Indian Islam in this era, 2- classifying his Ideas in various dimensions of Mysticism, and 3- comparing these Ideas with the most important Sufi currents of his previous time to trace Sufi reform in his Sufism. This research, besides Islamic studies and mysticism, deals with the history of social and cultural transitions, literature, and linguistics.
