Course Details

This program imparts skills and knowledge of education theory, social science, and psychology that facilitate a broad understanding of handicaps and disabilities in the context of pedagogically relevant individual, social, and societal circumstances. Students in this program will amass advanced knowledge of educational science, learn methodical skills, and gain the ability to act appropriately from an educational and special educational point of view. The curriculum includes an academically founded but practically and program-oriented master’s thesis. After completing this program, students are prepared for occupations related to special education and eligible to begin the probationary teaching period for special education in Thuringia and the rest of Germany. To do so, an application must be submitted to the ministry responsible for schools in the state of one’s choice.
