Course Details

In a bachelor program available at our partner universities, the Technical University of Ilmenau and the Bauhaus University of Weimar, students select two subjects to specialize in to meet the prerequisites for this teacher’s education program. The bachelor program also includes practically oriented and occupation-specific courses and an internship. Students then receive pedagogic training and a professional teacher’s education in the master program Education for Vocational Schools.

The master program Education for Vocational Schools is a continuation of the successful bachelor program in the same field. Students must complete two internships focusing on subject didactics in the two subject areas selected for their bachelor’s degree. Additional internships are an inherent part of the educational module. The curriculum includes an academically founded but practically and program-oriented master’s thesis. After completing this program, students are eligible to begin the probationary teaching period for vocational schools in Thuringia and the rest of Germany. To do so, an application must be submitted to the ministry responsible for schools in the state of one’s choice.
