EIPCC Early career researchers at ECPR General Conference

Brandt School early career researchers attended this year’s European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) General Conference in Innsbruck, Austria to present their research.

The General Conference, organized by the European Consortium of Political Research was hosted by the University of Innsbruck, Austria. Like in previous General Conferences, our early career researchers covered a wide range of topics in their research and their presentations. Silvia Weko presented her research on the political economy of the Jordanian energy transition. Stephanie Gast Zepeda discussed digitalization in policymaking in Germany. Karina Marzano examined the politics of supply chain sustainability governance in Brazil.

For several of them, it was the first time to finally have the full experience of international academic conferences in person, compared to the previous online or hybrid conferences due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, they did not only have the chance to present and discuss their research but also had the opportunity to widen their network by getting to know fellow researchers during formal and informal meetings. Karina shared some thoughts on her unique experience at this year’s ECPR in a piece for The Bulletin.
