Guest House (IBZ)

The International Guest Houses were built by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, not only to provide a reasonable accommodation for academics and their families during their stay in Germany, but also to provide the opportunity to establish contacts with numerous colleagues.


All apartments are fully furnished. Basic equipment includes: bed, wardrobe, desk, dining table, chairs, TV, telephone, laundry rack, vacuum cleaner; broom, dustpan, etc.

Iron, ironing board can be borrowed.

Upon request additional furniture, e.g. baby beds, additional guest beds, etc. can be provided.


Kitchens include refrigerator, stovetops, cookware, dishes, glasses, cutlery, etc.

Bed linen and towels

Bed linen and towels will be provided and changed regularly.


Bathrooms (surfaces only) and floors are cleaned regularly by house-keeping staff.

Laundry Room

In the basement of the guest house we provide on-site washers and dryers (fee-based).


All apartments are equipped with Internet access via LAN.


Phones are available in all apartments and can be called at any time.

The activation of the telephone for external calls is provided by our facility management.

Meeting area

The actual meeting centre of the IBZ Erfurt with a conference and seminar room for events is located on the ground floor. You may also find a furnished library on the ground floor.
