                        <title>Colonialism and anti-colonialism? Just ask!</title>
                        <link>https://www.uni-erfurt.de/en/faculty-of-philosophy/faculty/news-from-the-faculty/news/newsdetail/colonialism-and-anti-colonialism-just-ask</link>
<description>In February 2026, Dr Florian Wagner published an introduction to the history of colonialism, anti-colonialism and post-colonial debates in question-and-answer form in the interdisciplinary UTB series &quot;Frag doch einfach&quot;. In this introduction to the history of colonialism and anti-colonialism, the author explains how Europe was able to conquer almost the entire world. He shows that colonialism was not just a bygone era of tyranny, but still has consequences for people, culture and the environment today. With a particular focus on the experiences of the colonised, the book tells of their everyday resistance and the rise of powerful anti-colonial movements. A concluding chapter is dedicated to current debates on the politics of remembrance, colonial looted art and the renaming of streets.</description>
