Lecture by Katy Wenzel as part of the lecture series "Gardens: History, Form, Future" in the summer semester 2021. The event will be streamed on Youtube.

A brief historical outline of the development of school gardens in Germany, the presentation of the goals and learning areas of the Thuringian primary school curriculum as well as some tricky didactic considerations clarify the potential of school garden education. The guiding question here is: To what extent is gardening - as a special form of experiencing nature and as a typical adult hobby - at all suitable for children's education?

You can find the stream on our Youtube channel Uni Erfurt Live.
