Research project on Catholic women writers enters second phase

The German Research Foundation (DFG) is supporting the second phase of the project "Catholic Women Writers as Product and Producers of 'Catholic Femininity'?" with 288,000 euros for another 30 months.

The project is based at the Chair of Medieval and Modern Church History at the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Erfurt. In the second phase, Dr Antonia Leugers is now researching the extent to which a specific image of femininity has already been drawn in the prose works of Catholic women writers since the 1st women's movement in the 2nd half of the 19th century.
