The MA programme “Applied Linguistics – Acquisition, Processing and Use of Language” provides postgraduate students with detailed knowledge about linguistic theories and their applications in a variety of contexts. The degree programme introduces students to different methods and theories in key areas of linguistic research. Students learn how to use these methods and theories to investigate and analyse linguistic topics in a variety of areas.

The choice of compulsory and elective modules enables students to specialize in different areas of applied linguistics.

The MA programme and its specialization areas are closely related to the following activities that are intended to assist postgraduate students: university research focus “Education – teaching, learning and media socialization” and the research group “Competence in Language: Issues in Language Development, Processing and Use” in the post-graduate and post-doctoral programme (EPPP) at Erfurt.
