Work Placement/Internship

Within the curriculum of their studies, students can receive credits for a work placement (modules AA08BF#07 or AA23BF#05).

Objective and Content

Objective and Content

The work placement should be chosen in the occupational field that will be pursued after graduation. The purpose is the acquisition of practical, job-related experience in a foreign language activity field on the basis of acquired academic knowledge.

Scope

Scope

The work placement needs to comprise 85 hours of attendance. The work placement must be organised by the students themselves.

Enrolment

Enrolment

The registration through Studium und Lehre should take place beforehand, so that the certificate can be issued. However, registration after the work placement is equally possible. A separate contract is not needed.

Report

Report

For the recognition of a work placement as part of the BA course, a report must be handed in. Major subject students should submit the report to their mentor, minor subject students to any member of staff. The report should follow academic principles and in its form respect the guidelines for term papers.

Alternatives

Alternatives

A work placement is not a compulsory part of the BA course. Students can take a language class in another modern language instead. Major subject students can also choose from voice education or a seminar in academic working and writing.
