International Library Scholarship for Literary Research at the Gotha Research Library

Libraries not only preserve literature – libraries can also inspire literature. And this is precisely what the international library scholarship for literary research at the Gotha Research Library of the University of Erfurt, which is now being advertised, has in mind.

The research scholarship is intended to give authors of all literary genres (novels, poetry, drama, etc.) the opportunity to explore the holdings of the Gotha Research Library during the research phase of their literary projects. Applicants are expected to inform themselves in advance about the holdings of the research library and to name in their application the holdings relevant to their literary project.

The scholarship is endowed with 1,500 euros and allows for a one-month stay in Gotha in 2022. Accommodation will be provided. Applications for 2022 can only be made by using the online application form at www.kulturstiftung-thueringen.de and must be submitted to the "Literarische Gesellschaft Thüringen e. V." at bibliotheksstipendium@literarische-gesellschaft.de by Feb. 28, 2022.  The library scholarship is awarded in cooperation between the "Kulturstiftung des Freistaats Thüringen", the "Freundeskreis der Forschungsbibliothek Gotha e.V.", the Gotha Research Centre of the University of Erfurt and the "Literarische Gesellschaft Thüringen e.V.".
