Members of the Thuringian universities

A training offer of the eTEACH Network Thuringia in English. Dates: Thursday, 2 December 2021, 9-12, Thursday, 16 December 2021, 9-12, Thursday, 13 January 2022, 9-12, Thursday, 27 January 2022, 9-15. In between: self-study, preparation and group work (32 work units in total).

Interaction and collaboration with others are essential prerequisites for (student) learning. A targeted use of methods and tools for (online) cooperation supports not only the learning process but also student motivation. This is especially important in the online setting which lacks opportunities for incidental and informal contact. In this course you will learn how to guide students’ collaboration in synchronous and asynchronous online settings. Content: different methods for guiding collaborative work, interactive learning, supporting group work, student motivation, social presence, wording of tasks, online tools for synchronous and asynchronous collaboration (e.g. BigBlueButton, etherpad, padlet, miro, mentimeter etc. and moodle activities). We will cover research and theoretical background of social learning. However, our main focus is the transfer to your own teaching practice. The course will be a very interactive one and there will be room for your questions and interests.

Skill level: A1 | A2 | B1

Lecturer: Katharina Günther ((freelance trainer / research associate at the University of Leipzig / teaching and learning in higher education))

About the network

The eTeach Network Thuringia is an association of the state colleges and universities in Thuringia for the cooperative further development of digitally enriched higher education teaching. The focus is on supporting the profitable use of the opportunities of digitalisation for higher education teaching and efficiently mastering its challenges.

For teachers at Thuringian universities and colleges, the eTeach network offers user-oriented qualification formats, promotes cooperative impulse projects and focuses on networking in Thuringia and throughout Germany. The TMWWDG is financing the expansion of the eTeach network with funds from the "Zukunftsvertrag Studium und Lehre stärken" (Strengthening future contract for studies and teaching) and is integrating the project into the state's digitisation strategy.
