Every year, Christmas splits people's minds. The popularity of the holiday is almost unbroken, but at the same time criticism of consumerism, artificial idyll and kitschy nostalgia never ceases. In these times, is it even permissible to celebrate Christmas light-heartedly? These questions will be addressed in a guest lecture by Prof. Dr. Stephan Wahle, Freiburg/Br. The lecture will shed light on some phenomena of modern Christmas culture and explore possible religious traces.
