WebDAV

Allgemeines

The WebDAV service offers the possibility for staff to access files and folders located on the central file servers of the URMZ (drives H, O and U) from outside the campus. This access is possible by mounting it as a drive in the operating system.

 

Requirements for access:

After logging in, the folders groups, projects, users are displayed in the new drive. These folders correspond to drives H, O and U as follows:

H=users/ef/Loginname or users/gth/Loginname

O=projects

U=groups

Integration of the drives

Windows

Your drives are mounted via the WebDAV protocol. Proceed as follows :

 

  1. Open Windows Explorer, right-click on This PC and then select Connect network drive.
  2. Select an unused drive letter . Normally this should be the case for V ... Z 
  3. Enter the following under Folder: "https://webdav.uni-erfurt.de/webdav/".
  4. Check the box for Connect with other login information (Reconnect at login as required)
  5. Then enter your PC login (ad\loginname).
  6. Click OK --> Your new drive with the contents groups, projects and users should now be available in Explorer

MacOS

Your drives are mounted via the WebDAV protocol. Proceed as follows :

 

  1. In the Finder, click on Go to and then on Connect to server
  2. in the next step, enter the following under Server Address: "https://webdav.uni-erfurt.de/webdav/" and click on Connect
  3. in the next item select Registered User and then enter your PC login
  4. click on Connect --> now you should be able to access webdav.uni-erfurt.de/webdav via Finder --> Places

Linux

Your drives are mounted via the WebDAV protocol. Proceed as follows :

  1. Under Caja, click on Go to and then on Location....
  2. In the next step, enter the following under Location: davs://webdav.uni-erfurt.de/webdav/ and press ENTER.
  3. select Registered User in the next step and then enter your PC-Login
  4. click on Connect --> now your drives should be successfully mapped under Network --> Server Name
