"3G" now also in the cafeteria

From 1 November 2021, the "3G" rule will also apply in the cafeteria on the University of Erfurt campus. This means that only people who have been vaccinated against Corona, have recovered or have tested negative will be granted access. The Thuringian Student Services Centre (Studierendenwerk Thüringen), as the operator of the refectory, has announced corresponding random checks at the entrances.

Until now, there had been no legal basis for this regulation, which - unlike in restaurants - was initially more broadly defined for refectories and canteens. The new regulation is now enshrined in the state's Corona Ordinance. After the "3G" rule for protection against the spread of Corona infections applies to participation in classroom teaching on campus from the start of the winter semester 2021/22, the University of Erfurt had lobbied the state of Thuringia to also introduce the regulations in the refectory to protect its students and employees.
