"... THE SEA AND THE DRY LAND." (JONAH 1:9) ON JONAH'S "IGNORANCE" AND JHWH'S "PITY"
First in satirical and then in serious form: To this day, research has been unable or unwilling to find out how expensive Jonah's ship passage from Japoh to Tarshish was. But it is clear that Jonah was shipped back by a sea creature like this for nothing: Professor Baumgart's farewell lecture is not about fares, but about the religious and spiritual value of being allowed to be angry with the merciful deity of Israel, YHWH.
