Workshop content

In today's dynamic and complex working world, employers no longer just look at specific specialist knowledge, but increasingly also at methods and, above all, meaningful values and attitudes, the so called Future Skills or Next Skills.
As a graduate you automatically use and train a lot of that Next Skills.
In the workshop you will discover which Next Skills you already use - and how you can convince others (e.g. employers) of your future-skills-profile.

We will focus on transformative skills, like ambiguity skills, design thinking skills, ethical skills, sensemaking, reflective skills, decision-making skills, cooperation skills and learning skills.

If you take a closer look at these skills, you will see that you use all of them in the context of scientific work processes (e.g. a doctoral thesis or scientific project work).

Contents of the workshop:

  • Future or Next Skills – what exactly does that mean?
  • Identify and name these skills using your scientific work experience
  • Derive these skills from other parts of your practical biography
  • Make these skills explicit for potential employers
  • Close gaps: what can you for further training?

Goals:

  • Sharpen and optimize your own profile with reference to Future Skills
  • Describe your own professional profile with a focus on Future Skills
  • Use this knowledge specifically in the process for job search and application

Participation:

  • To participate you need a laptop or computer with audio / video function (microphone and camera). You also need a stable internet connection.
  • You will receive an individual login code for the moodle course room for the workshop on 5-7 days prior to the online attendance date latest
  • Preparation phase - prerequisite for participation: approx. 2 hours, on your own time: in the moodle course room you will find materials and tasks to prepare. If necessary, these tasks are supervised by the trainer.
  • On the online attendance date, we will work together on interactive learning situations from 9:00 am to around 1:30 pm (short breaks)
  • Transfer phase (optional): approx. 2 hours, on your own time: in the moodle course room you will receive feedback, can ask further questions and exchange ideas with the trainer and the other participants.
