About the lecture
The demand for a contemporary professionalisation of teachers lies in preparing future teachers for the professional requirements both academically and in terms of professional practice. The teaching of so-called "core practices" focuses on central learning opportunities for later professional action. For this purpose, a "Learning-to-Teach-Lab: Science" (LTL:S) was initiated and established at the University of Jena, which makes it possible to plan, implement and reflect on evidence-based approaches to teaching in a university setting. A particular focus of LTL:S is the implementation of pedagogical practices of instructional communication that promote learning. The lecture will first introduce the approach of "core practices". Then, using the example of classroom talk, we will illustrate highly didactic and research-based approaches to scientifically sound and practically oriented training of prospective secondary teachers for future-oriented teacher education.
