Circular No. 01/2023 - Flat-rate subsidy for the procurement of electric height-adjustable desks

The University of Erfurt attaches great importance to ergonomically designed workplaces that are beneficial to health. For this reason, the purchase of electrically height-adjustable desks has been financially supported from central funds for some time. Previously, the difference between the purchase cost of a normal desk and a height-adjustable desk was covered. Due to the changed market situation and fluctuating prices, the purchase of electrically height-adjustable desks to simplify work processes will be subsidized with a lump sum of 400 euros until further notice.

The prerequisite for this, in addition to available budget funds, is the following

• the presentation of a medical certificate to the contact person for occupational health and safety in Department 4, Ms. Kranhold, in which the use of a height-adjustable desk is recommended, or
• endorsement of the purchase of a height-adjustable desk during a workplace inspection by the occupational safety specialist, Ms. Sylvia Fehlau-Kählert.

If desks larger than the standard size of 160 x 80 cm are to be procured, the approval of the occupational safety specialist must also be obtained in advance by the requirements department.
