Trust is required at various levels in our lives: When I trust a fellow human being, I assume that he or she does not want to harm me. When I vote for politicians, I trust that they will represent my concerns in the best possible way. When I trust state institutions, I assume that they are (at least in principle) set up and act according to standards of justice for all. Without trust, good cooperation is highly endangered, if not impossible - both on a small and large scale.
The Kreuzganggespräche 2023 will therefore focus on trust as a fundamental requirement for our social interaction. Speakers from different areas of society will each present their own perspective on this important foundation of any kind of togetherness.
