Violation of "3G" can be expensive

Against the background of the Corona pandemic, the so-called "3G rule" will apply at the University of Erfurt - as at many other universities - from the winter semester 2021/22 until further notice. This means that only fully vaccinated, recovered or tested persons are permitted to participate in classroom teaching or examinations.

The universities are obliged to check compliance with this rule. Against this background, random checks will be carried out.

The Thuringian Ministry of Economics, Science and Digital Society has informed the universities in the Free State about the catalogue of fines applicable in this context for the punishment of administrative offences. This shows that a fine of 150 euros is generally imposed for a violation of the obligation to provide evidence in the higher education sector regulated in the Thuringian Ordinance on the Regulation of Measures under Infection Protection Law for the Containment of the Coronavirus (§ 26 Para. 3 No. 21 ThürSARS-CoV-2-IfS-MaßnVO) (see catalogue p.14). The districts and independent cities are responsible for prosecuting and punishing such administrative offences.
