Forschungsschwerpunkte

In meinen Forschungen beschäftige ich mich in erster Linie mit der Psychologie des Urteilens und Entscheidens (Judgment and Decision Making).

Im Alltag wiederholen sich viele der Situationen, die uns Urteile und Entscheidungen abverlangen. Hier können wir auf gelernte Einstellungen, Präferenzen und Routinen zurückgreifen. Meine Mitarbeiter und ich erforschen, unter welchen Bedingungen sich Verhaltenstendenzen verfestigen (Routinisierung) und wann es zur Abweichungen von Gelerntem kommt (Flexibilität).

Beim Urteilen und Entscheiden sind verschiedene Prozesse der Informationsverarbeitung beteiligt. Ich interessiere mich hierbei besonders für das Zusammenspiel von Intuition und analytischem Denken.

Seit jüngerer Zeit beschäftige ich mich auch mit der Entwicklung von Entscheidungs- und Urteilskompetenz im Kindesalter. In Zusammenarbeit mit den Trägern der Erfurter Kindertagesstätten und den Schulen  untersucht unser Team, wie Kinder in Situationen unter Risiko Informationen verarbeiten und handeln.
