Online Coffee Lectures on Research Data Management

The Thuringian Competence Network for Research Data Management (TKFMD) invites you to its Online Coffee Lectures again in 2021.

The first event will take place on 27 January from 2 to 2.30 p.m. as a webinar on "Zoom" and is entitled "5S Data: Sit on your 5 letters and organise your data! The moderator is Kevin Lang (FDM contact point at Bauhaus University Weimar). Registration is via e-mail.

The 5S work design (also called 5A in Germany) is a methodology that became popular in production systems in the 2000s through Toyota. It consists of the methods: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain. In 2019, the University of Helsinki coined the methodology to research data and popularised it as "5S-Data". In this Coffee Lecture, the individual steps will be discussed in detail and how they can be implemented in relation to projects with research data. Different solutions and portals will be presented that can help researchers to implement the 5S-Data principles. The Coffee Lecture will be held in German, but the presentation slides will be made available in both German and English.

For the complete programme overview, please see the event poster in the margin on the right.

By the way: Anne Lehmann is a new member of staff at the Service Office for Research Data Management at the University of Erfurt. She is replacing Dr. Nadine Neute during her absence. Anne Lehmann can be reached at 0361/737-5707 and by e-mail at forschungsdatenmanagement@uni-erfurt.de.
