CALLS and MISC

Fellowships for India-based Members of ICAS:MP

Dear Members of ICAS:MP,

Due to the pandemic, we could not publish our calls for applications for our Germany Fellowships in the last year. The German Embassy in Delhi and consulates elsewhere in India are now accepting applications again, and many travel restrictions are lifted.

Therefore, we are delighted that we can finally invite you to apply for our Fellowships for India-based module members to visit one of the German partner institutions (Erfurt, Würzburg, Göttingen, and GHIL-London) for short-term residencies (2-3 months) in 2022, to continue research exchanges on module and ICAS themes. In 2022, two of these fellowships are available. The next CFA is planned for early 2022 for short-term residencies in 2023.

Each fellow will be awarded 10,000 € for a 2.5 month period, to cover a monthly stipend of approx. 4000 €, and a travel allowance of up to 1,500 €.

If you are interested in applying for a residency during the 2022 calendar year, please submit an application by 15 September 2021 to Laila (email: abu-er-rub@mwsindia.org <mailto:abu-er-rub@mwsindia.org> ).

The fellows will be selected by the Joint Committee, and the selection will be approved by our International Advisory Board.

If you would like to apply, please fill this application form

-  The intended location and dates of your proposed residency

 - A 1-2 page summary of your research project and plan during the residency. Please include a CV, a brief description how your project engages and advances the research agenda of your module and, and contributes to the overarching ICAS theme of "Metamorphoses of the Political."

Applicants shall also submit a confirming letter/email from the "host" module member at the institution where you would like to be based (i.e. GHIL, Erfurt, Würzburg, or Göttingen), confirming that the institution is able to host you (provide office space etc.) during the time period you have specified.  In addition, applicants shall request the concerned module coordinator to separately send a letter to Laila which outlines the applicant’s activities and efforts in contributing to the ICAS:MP research agenda.

Please contact Laila if you require any further information.

Thanks and best wishes,

Ravi Sundaram and Srirupa Roy
