Flowering meadows are being redesigned

Department 4: Facility Management has announced that the flowering meadows around the University of Erfurt's research building "Weltbeziehungen" will be mowed in the next few days.

The flowering meadows at the research building "Weltbeziehungen" are being redesigned in consultation with the Erfurt seed breeding company Rose.

The background to this is that the campus borders the Rose seed farm to the north. This company sells Demeter-certified seeds and has made a name for itself internationally. To ensure that the company can continue to bear this seal of quality, the building management has reached an agreement with the owner of the company, Annegret Rose, to reduce the numerous wild carrots on the campus in order to prevent seed cross-breeding. To do this, the flowering meadows around the research building must now be mowed. An adapted flower mixture will then be sown on the areas in autumn 2025.
