Spanish level exams

General information

The Language Centre of the University of Erfurt offers so-called level examinations to determine the language level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The level examinations are offered for Spanish from level A2 to C1.
Please note the following information:

  • The level examinations take place twice a year (February and July).
  • They consist of four parts corresponding to the 4 skills (reading comprehension, written production, listening comprehension and oral expression).
  • A minimum overall percentage of 60% is required to pass the respective level examination. You may not fail more than one part.
  • Students who have not attended a course can also take part. The prerequisite is proof of appropriate prior knowledge (e.g. through a C-test, external language certificates, etc.)

Description of the courses

Placement test

Students who are interested in Spanish courses and have previous knowledge of the language must take a placement test, which takes place ONLY once a year (in October) .

Students who have already successfully completed at least one Spanish course at the University of Erfurt and would like to take the next higher level course are exempt from this requirement.

Level A1

Español A1

This course is intended for participants who have no or very little previous knowledge of Spanish and prepares BA students at the University of Erfurt for level A1.

Level A2

Español A2

This course continues the course that has already been running for one semester. At the end of the semester, participants can take the A2 level exam.

Entry requirement: successful participation in the course "Español A1" or the required score in the C-Test.

Level B1

Español B1.1

This course prepares students for the B1 level exam, which can be taken after the "Español B1.2" course.
