Grand reception at the 25th anniversary of the Faculty of Economics, Law and Social Sciences

At the end of the year, there's something to celebrate once again on the University of Erfurt campus: the founding of the Faculty of Economics, Law and Social Sciences 25 years ago. Prominent guests are also expected to attend the anniversary celebration in the Centre for Communication and Information (KIZ) on Wednesday, 3 December.

After a welcoming address by Thuringia's Minister President Professor Mario Voigt, former Federal President Joachim Gauck will give his keynote speech on "Liberal democracy in times of upheaval". This will be followed by a panel discussion in which Professor Bettina Rockenbach (President of the Leopoldina), Liv Volkmann, Dr Fabian Disselbeck and Professor Michael Riegner will talk about "Economics, Law and Social Sciences Then – Today – Tomorrow". Music will be played in between and guests will have the opportunity to reminisce and chat in the foyer.

In the run-up to the celebrations, we spoke to Professor Miriam Zschoche, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Law and Social Sciences, for our campus blog – about how it all began back then, how the faculty stands today and what ideas it would like to take into the future.
