New programme "Education and Multilingualism" launched

An intensive programme "Education and Multilingualism" for student teachers has now started at the University of Erfurt. The international project in cooperation with València University and Inspé Paris-Créteil University is funded by the Erasmus+ programme and offers participants the opportunity to improve their competences in dealing with multilingualism.

With the help of self-learning materials and video chat events, students from the three universities can learn together in it and deal with the multilingual and pluricultural aspects of teaching and learning. Building on this, they will prepare, deliver and reflect on their own lesson together in Paris at the end of March. The meeting will also provide an opportunity for personal intercultural exchange. From the University of Erfurt, eight students of the master's programme Primary schools with a focus on Romance Studies, English Studies or Music will participate in the seminar.

The programme is a combination of content on multilingualism, language awareness, movement and Music and is led by an international and multidisciplinary team of colleagues from the three participating institutions, including for the University of Erfurt Béatrice Giribone-Fritz (Language Centre/Romance Studies), Dr. Viviane Lohe (Language Teaching and Learning Research English) and Julia Sgolik (QUALITEACH subproject "Competence Network Digital Subject-Related Teacher Education").
