Supplementary information on digital examinations in the winter semester 2022/23

In addition to his circular letter of December 7 regarding the digital examinations in the current winter semester, the Vice President for Academic Affairs of the University of Erfurt has once again informed the teaching staff today. The letter in the wording...

Dear teachers,

I would like to briefly inform you about the following new facts in addition to my mail on this topic from the beginning of December:

1. after consultation with Bernhard Becher, you as the assigned examiner must assume for students who do not participate in the vote on the forms of the electronic exam (i.e. refusal of consent) that they complete the electronic exam in attendance and under supervision on the campus of the University of Erfurt in the PC pools of the University of Erfurt. Together with the students who actively declare that they do not want to write with their own technology but with technology on campus, these students form the group of examinees for whom you must reserve places in the PC pools. If these students have not shown up there on the date you have set, the examination will be considered not taken and therefore failed (5.0). Participation in a repeat examination that is still open is thus excluded (§ 15 para. 1 B-RPO).

2. for the absolutely necessary obtaining of the students' consent to the respective form of electronic examination, we have revised the voting in Moodle and formulated very clearly what the consequences of the students' non-participation in the voting will be. You can find this voting in the "news" section in the Moodle room Uni Erfurt Digital Lehren (enrollment key: ueDigital), download it there as a backup and then restore it in your Moodle room. The instructions for this can also be found in this Moodle room. Please make this reconciliation available to students as early as possible.

3. should students want or need to use the University Computer and Media Centre (URMZ) PC pools for the exam, please make the reservation by you only once and as early as possible before the exam date under raumreservierung.urmz@uni-erfurt.de. The URMZ would like to point out that a reservation must be made at least two weeks before the exam date so that the various reservations can be coordinated and processed. You will need to plan for additional proctoring time in the PC pools.

Since we are currently unable to estimate how high the demand for examination places in the PC pools will be, it could be the case that a sufficient number of pool places are not available for the scheduled examination period, especially because they have already been reserved for parallel examinations. In these rare cases, you may need to reschedule an exam.

When reserving pool seats, please also consider writing time extensions owed to disadvantage compensation, if applicable.

If you have any questions, the eTeach team is available via eteach@uni-erfurt.de or during office hours (Fridays from 2 to 3 p.m.) in the eTeach virtual office: https://uni-erfurt.webex.com/meet/eteach.
