Anke Holler, born in 1967, is Professor of German Studies Linguistics at the University of Göttingen, where she has also been Vice President for Appointments since 2021. She studied General Linguistics, Psychology and Computer Science at the University of Tübingen and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (USA), as well as German Studies at the University of Leipzig. She received her doctorate in General Linguistics/Computational Linguistics from the University of Tübingen in 2002. After working in Heidelberg and Karlsruhe, she was appointed to Göttingen in 2007. She is a member of the Leibniz Association's Senate Competition Committee and a member of the DFG's Senate and Grants Committee for Research Training Groups (DFG).
Professor Andrea Bührmann, Chair of the University Council, who chaired the search committee, is delighted with the successful choice: "With Professor Anke Holler, the University of Erfurt will have a President who will certainly provide many inspiring impulses for the strategic direction of the University of Erfurt in the future. The term of office of the current President of the University of Erfurt, Professor Walter Bauer-Wabnegg, ends on 30 September next year. He was elected in 2014, was confirmed in office in December 2019 and will retire at the end of the 2026 summer semester.
