• The high school leaving exam (Abitur) is not equivalent to a CEFR level
• Language certificates from other institutions are not a substitute for placement tests and are not for credit. In some cases they will be accepted as fulfilling a language requirement
• The placement test is usually not for language certification and is not proof of academic achievement
