Information from the organisers
Discriminatory statements are often made in the context of social media under the protection of anonymity and, in the context of targeted and widespread dissemination, discriminatory statements and world views are shifted in discourse and normalised. As a result, educational professionals are increasingly confronted with the effects of this in their everyday appointments.
This event for students and teaching staff will teach them ways to respond to discriminatory statements and slogans. It looks at where discrimination occurs in everyday school life, for example, what possible strategies there are for arguing against discriminatory statements and how these can be applied.
