Enrolment for language courses in the 2026/27 winter term

Places on the language courses are allocated via the new course allocation system (MOSES by MathPlan), which the University of Erfurt is currently trialling with selected courses. 

Students in their third semester or above who have successfully completed a language course at the University of Erfurt can log in here (https://kurve.uni-erfurt.de) using their usual login details (Shibboleth) and specify their course preferences from 1 October 2026 to 4 October 2026. Thereafter, course places will be allocated by 6 October 2026 at the latest, taking into account all priorities submitted – i.e. fairly and regardless of when they were entered – and the allocation results will be published directly in MOSES. 

Once the results have been published, you will have the opportunity to return any allocated course places that you do not wish to take up. This will allow these places to be reallocated during the second allocation phase.

If you have not been allocated a place, you will have another opportunity to specify your preferences during the second phase, from 7 October 2026 to 8 October 2026. The results of this second allocation will be published by 9 October 2026 at the latest. 

Students in their first semester or above with no prior language knowledge may submit their course preferences from 7 October 2026 to 8 October 2026. Students with prior language knowledge who have not yet completed a language course at the University of Erfurt must take the placement test (6 October 2026 to 8 October 2026). You can find more detailed information about the placement test here. You can then submit your course preferences by 8 October 2026, based on your test score. The results will be published on MOSES by 9 October 2026 at the latest. 

Please do not contact lecturers regarding remaining course places during the registration periods. 

Please note that course allocation does not follow the ‘first come, first served’ principle. Instead, places are allocated on the basis of the preferences stated at the time of registration, with the aim of finding the best possible overall solution for all students, whilst taking into account any potential timetable conflicts. It is therefore not guaranteed that you will be allocated your first or second choice. This applies in particular to very popular courses. Furthermore, almost all language courses have a maximum of 20 participants, which further limits availability.
