Registration for the language courses in the summer semester 2026

Nihil novi sub sole

The title means"Nothing new under the sun right now."

  • nihil = nothing (nom. sg. n.)
  • novi: Gen. Sg. n. from novus, -a, um = new
  • sub (prep. m. abl.) = under
  • sole: Abl. sg. m. from sol, solis m. = sun

The saying is based on Kohelet 1.10, where it says something different: "Nihil sub sole novum." This means that there is never anything new under the sun.
