Registration for language courses in the summer semester 2026

English course places will be allocated via the new course allocation system (MOSES by MathPlan), which the University of Erfurt is currently piloting with selected courses. You can log in at https://kurve.uni-erfurt.de using your usual login credentials (Shibboleth) and indicate your course preferences from March 7 to March 17. Afterwards, course places will be assigned by March 25 at the latest, taking into account all submitted priorities — that is, fairly and independently of the time at which you entered your preferences. The allocation of course places will be published directly in MOSES no later than March 25.

Please note the distinction between course selections for students of English (with English as a major or minor subject) and selections for all other students.

Master's students who need to register for English courses are asked to contact the SPZ Service Desk.

Please remember that course allocation is not based on a first-come, first-served principle. Instead, placements are assigned based on the preferences submitted during the registration phase, with the aim of finding the best possible overall solution for all students while taking potential timetable conflicts into account. It is therefore not guaranteed that you will receive your first or second choice. This is particularly the case for highly popular courses. In addition, all language courses have a maximum capacity of 20 participants (and some courses, such as Aural/Oral Practice, have even fewer places), which further limits availability.

Any remaining course places will be available during the second phase of course registration via MOSES from 25.03. to 30.03. The results of this phase will be published on MOSES on 02.04. Do not contact any instructors about remaining course places during this time.

Information and recommendations for students in the BA International Relations programme

Students must provide proof of English language proficiency at B2 level at the start of their degree programme. If this is not explicitly stated on the Abitur certificate, it must be proven via externally acquired international language certificates. To have your language certificate recognised, please send a copy of it via email to the Faculty of Economics, Law and Social Sciences:

Information and recommendations for students in the MA Applied Linguistics programme

Students on this degree programme must demonstrate English language proficiency at C1 level (reading and listening comprehension). We recommend participation in English courses to prepare for the C1 examination.
