Background

A new health promotion project has been launched at the University of Erfurt, which is being funded with a total of 25,000 euros. As part of the "Bewegt studieren - Studieren bewegt!" initiative of the German University Sports Association (adh), low-threshold and everyday exercise programmes are to be created on campus by the end of March 2028 with the support of TK - Die Technologie.

The aim is to promote exercise, health and mental strength under the title "CampusVital - Beweg dich gesund!" to sustainably integrate exercise, health and mental strength into everyday student life and improve the well-being of all university members. The plans include

  • Regular exercise programmes and active breaks on campus;
  • marked campus exercise routes;
  • freely accessible sports and exercise equipment;
  • exercise and health programmes on nutrition, sleep and stress management;
  • the training of student exercise instructors for low-threshold exercise programmes.

The project is being implemented by the Erfurt University Sports Department of the USV in close cooperation with the University Health Management and students from the subject areas of Sports Science and Health Communication.
