International Symposium organised by the GreenTrans-Edu Cluster of the KLIMA-N Network

Higher education institutions (HEIs) play a key role in the transformation process to a more sustainable society (UNEP, 2021). Hence, universities should also comply with the sustainability principles beyond their teaching and research activities. They should follow a holistic approach and include the various aspects of sustainability in all areas of the institution, such as administration, governance, and procurement, as well as management of buildings, infrastructure, and green spaces on campus. The objective of the symposium is to facilitate the exchange of experiences among HEIs from the EU and ASEAN, identify common challenges, and share innovative solutions for advancing sustainability transformation in higher education. As part of the GreenTrans-Edu project, the symposium also aims to expand the GreenTrans-Edu network and foster long-term partnerships and cooperation on sustainability among HEIs within the GreenTrans-Edu network and the Thuringian HEIs sustainability network.
