University of Erfurt introduces new study profile "Sustainability/Education for Sustainable Development" in the winter semester

As part of the KLIMA-N project, the University of Erfurt has committed itself to strengthening education for sustainable development (ESD). There are already many courses in the compulsory, compulsory elective and elective areas as well as in the Studium Fundamentale that contribute to this. In order to give students the opportunity to document a corresponding specialisation, the study profile "Sustainability/Education for Sustainable Development" is to be introduced in the winter semester 2025/26.

From the winter semester 2025/26, the University of Erfurt is planning a new, interdisciplinary study profile on sustainability and education for sustainable development in order to offer students better career prospects in this field. Students will be able to earn 24 ECTS credits through certain courses, which will be recognised on their transcript of records, with the relevance being determined by the lecturers. The initiative comes in response to student demand and is based on existing courses. Comprehensive information on this innovative study profile will be provided to lecturers and students in the summer semester.
