Welcome to the homepage for Social, Organizational, and Economic Psychology

All behavior takes place within a specific context. Social, organizational, and socio-economic contexts play an especially important role – it is there, that human behavior becomes action. Actions are behaviors that we decide on in the real or imagined presence of others. How are decisions made? How do we evaluate the social world? How do judgement and decision making competencies develop in specific contexts and across the lifespan? Judgement and decision making represents the main research and teaching focus of this department. An additional area of focus is statistics and research methods.
