Science to Society: Linking research and society

In addition to the traditional areas of teaching and research, at the IPB we also collaborate with society, media, and politics to make health promotion and climate protection jointly plannable and human-centred.

This area, Science2Society, therefore forms a distinct pillar at the IPB with the goal of strengthening the value of science as a basis for political and social decision-making and promoting exchange processes between journalists, politicians, citizens and scientists.

To achieve this, we engage in science communication by creating materials that make social and behavioural science findings accessible to practitioners. These can include manuals, brochures, podcasts, or contributions to a science blog.

Additionally, we pursue various science outreach activities such as working in political advisory committees or giving lectures and workshops at authorities, for decision-makers, or foundations.

And last but not least, we make our research findings available to a wide public through contributions in the traditional media.
