Coordination centre: Colonial heritage in Thuringia

The Thuringian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Science and Digital Society (TMWWDG) is providing a total of 300,000 euros to fund the establishment of a cross-university "Scientific Coordination Centre for the Examination of Colonial Heritage in Thuringia" at the Universities of Erfurt and Jena. As part of the University of Erfurt, the Centre for Transcultural Studies supports the reappraisal of the "colonial heritage" in Thuringia.

We are delighted about the generous funding and see this as an opportunity to continue existing projects and also to initiate new research projects in this area.

European History Portal

European History in Sources and Essays deals with the history of Europe and Europeans from the 18th century to the present day using original text and image documents, which are categorised in historical contexts with the help of an accompanying research essay. Historians and social and cultural scientists working in history will show why and in what respect the events, structures, processes, ideas and forms of expression they are analysing are significant for the course of Europe's history, the historical awareness of the European population and current challenges.
