To mark its 25th anniversary, the Faculty of Education at the University of Erfurt is hosting a symposium on Friday, 26 June entitled "Wie sichern wir Unterrichtsqualität? – Aktuelle Entwicklungen und Standards in der Lehrkräftebildung in Thüringen und darüber hinaus" (How do we ensure teaching quality? – Current developments and standards in teacher training in Thuringia and beyond).

Programme (in planning)

  • Welcome by the Faculty of Education and the Presidia of the Universities of Erfurt and Jena
  • Keynote speech by Professor Felicitas Thiel (Deputy Chair of the Standing Scientific Commission of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs)
  • Moderated panel discussion with:
    • Professor Felicitas Thiel;
    • State Secretary Dr Bernd Uwe Althaus (Thuringian Ministry of Education, Science and Culture);
    • Simone Fleischmann (President of the Bavarian Teachers' Association);
    • Heike Scheika (Thuringian Institute for Teacher Training, Curriculum Development and Media);
    • Erik Sczygiol (State Student Representative Thuringia);
    • student teachers.
