Study Location Gotha

The teaching offered at the Centre for Transcultural Studies is aimed at students of thematically related bachelor's and master's degree programs in Erfurt, particularly history and literature. Since the winter semester 2024/25, the University of Erfurt offers the Master's degree programme in Transcultural History with a possible focus on collection studies .

The course formats include thematically focussed research seminars relating to the Gotha collections as well as regular colloquia and lecture series. In addition, students have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the Gotha collections as part of student internships or in so-called independent study units and to develop their own initial research projects and research-oriented qualification theses.
