In his talk "Geopolitics and Border Disputes in Northern Ethiopia and Southern Eritrea", Dr Gebreyesus Teklu Bahta will shed light on the historical background, political dynamics and current developments of the border conflicts between Ethiopia and Eritrea as well as their significance for the geopolitical situation in the Horn of Africa.

Dr Gebreyesus Teklu Bahta is currently a Herzog-Ernst Fellow in Gotha and a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Dispute Resolution in Africa (IDRA) at the University of South Africa in Pretoria. His research focuses in particular on conflict and peace research, issues of dispute resolution and political and social developments in Africa.
