Application

The following documents must be submitted with the application for a scholarship:

  1. A cover letter (max. 2 pages) that takes the following points into account:

    - Information on the project's connectivity to the Gotha Research Campus of the University of Erfurt and the holdings of the Gotha Research Library,

    - Information on the extent to which the project contributes to the further development of your own academic career,

    - if this is considered relevant for the application (voluntary information): Special features of your own life situation (disabilities, chronic illness, family circumstances, voluntary work, social criteria),

  2. a curriculum vitae in tabular form,

  3. an exposé of the research project with concrete details on the realisation of the project (max. 5 pages),

  4. a work plan and timetable,

  5. a list of publications, if applicable,

  6. relevant certificates (Master's/Master's/Diploma certificate and doctorate certificate or written confirmation of admission to doctorate),

  7. the signed consent to the processing of personal data (PDF here).

A current expert opinion or letter of recommendation from a professor proving the quality of the research project must be submitted by the professor him/herself by e-mail to the Gotha Research Centre at the address given in the next paragraph.

The application documents must be submitted in full and in one PDF file (max. 5 MB) with a table of contents and the documents (points 1-7) in the above-mentioned order exclusively by e-mail to forschungszentrum.gotha@uni-erfurt.de. Applications can be submitted in German and English by 15 June 2025, stating the keyword "Kurzzeitstipendium am Gotha Research Campus der University of Erfurt". The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of the written applications. Application documents can also be submitted in encrypted form. Information on this can be found below.

INFORMATION ON THE LEGAL BASIS AND DATA PROTECTION

The basis for awarding scholarships is the Statutes of the University of Erfurt on the awarding of scholarships. The University of Erfurt's email system generally works with transport encryption. Please ensure that you also use transport encryption when sending e-mails. If you would also like to encrypt the content of your email, please use the following email address instead of the email address mentioned above bewerbung@uni-erfurt.de. You can find the certificate with the public key for sending the encrypted e-mail for this e-mail address at www.uni-erfurt.de/universitaet/arbeiten-an-der-universitaet/stellenausschreibungen. If you do not make use of the option of encryption by certificate, no encryption of the content of your e-mail can be guaranteed. When submitting your application documents in electronic form, you are deemed to have given your consent to check the e-mail and its attachments for malicious code, viruses and spam, to temporarily store the required data and to conduct further correspondence (unencrypted) by e-mail. By submitting your application, you also consent to the further processing of your personal data as part of and for the purposes of the application process.
