E-mail encryption (optional): In the ZIP fileyou will find the certificate with the public key for the address nachwuchsfoerderung@uni-erfurt.de in a PEM, DER and PKCS#7 format. You can import this certificate into your e-mail program (e.g. Mozilla Thunderbird, MS Outlook) and use it to send a S/MIME encrypted mail to nachwuchsfoerderung@uni-erfurt.de.

Initialisation Scholarships for Female Postdoctoral Researchers

According to the “Female Professor Programme of the State and the Federal States” (Professorinnenprogramm des Bundes und der Länder), the University of Erfurt announces initialisation scholarship for female postdoctoral researchers.
This scholarships aim to fund female postdoctoral researchers that intend to apply for a third-party funding, or participate in the application process of a larger project at the University of Erfurt and who wants to gain experience in project management after the application for third-party funding has been successful.
The scholarship has no thematic restrictions. A subject-related connection of the project to the Gotha Research Centre or the Centre for Transcultural Studies / Perthes Collection would be preferable but is not required.

The Initialisation Scholarship is granted for a maximum of 12 months. Postdoctoral researchers receive a basic monthly grant of 1,600 euro and up to 1,000 euro funding for research expenses. The scholarship is accompanied by application advice as well as some individual career coaching.

Application deadline: 27 March 2024, 11:59 pm CET. Start of the funding shall be 1 June 2024 and not later than 1 November 2024.

Scholarships according to the “Thuringian Programme for Funding of Young Female Academics and Artists"

According to the “Thuringian Programme for Funding of Young Female Academics and Artists”, the University of Erfurt advertises initialisation scholarships.

This scholarship is meant to finance postdoctoral researchers that intend to apply to third-party funding, or participate in the application process of larger projects at the University of Erfurt. The tender has no thematic restrictions. A subject-related connection of the project to the Gotha Research Centre or the Centre for Transcultural Studies / Perthes Collection would be preferable but is not required.

Initialisation scholarships are granted for a maximum of 12 months. Postdoctoral researchers receive a basic monthly grant of EUR 2,000 plus family allowance.

Research Grants for Female Doctoral Scholarship Holders

With funds from the Equal Opportunity Officer and as a measure to promote equality, it is now possible for female doctoral scholarship holder to receive an additional annual reimbursement of up to 300 euros for research costs.

You can find all the necessary information and the documents to be submitted on the website of the Equal Opportunity Officer.

Research Grants for Associated Female Doctoral Candidates and Associated Female Postdoctoral Researchers

From the budget for gender equality measures of the Equal Opportunity Officer, female doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers, who are employees of the University of Erfurt can now apply for research grants, which can be used among others for conference travel, researcher funds, data access, additional equipment and more.

Doctoral candidates can apply for support up to 300 euros and postdoctoral candidates for support up to 500 euros.

Informal applications with a statement of expenses are accepted via gleichstellungsbuero@uni-erfurt.de.

When applying for travel grants for conference travel, the certificate of acceptance of one's own active conference contribution must also be attached to the application. Further information can be found on the website of the Equal Opportunity Officer.
