Musical reading for the conference "Kommunikationsräume vernetzt"

The musical reading „… an Ihrem Hofe Zeichen der Güte zu erhalten.“ (Voltaire) Briefe aus dem Umfeld Herzogin Luise Dorotheas im Dialog mit zeitgenössischer Hofmusik is aimed at an interested public. It will take place as part of the conference “Kommunikationsräume vernetzt: Der Gothaer Hof unter Herzog Friedrich III. und Herzogin Luise Dorothea – Privatbibliotheken, Sozietäten und Briefkorrespondenzen”, which will be held at the Gotha Research Centre from 5 to 6 March 2026. The event is organised by the Chair of Church History at the University of Göttingen in cooperation with the Research Library and the Gotha Research Centre at the University of Erfurt.

Admission is free. Afterwards, the Friends of the Gotha Research Library e.V. will host a reception.

The reading will be interspersed with music by the two famous Gotha court conductors of the time, Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel and Georg Anton Benda, as well as by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
