Laureate 2026: Lina Thiede (Cologne)

Lina Thiede is visiting Gotha for a month to research her new novel "Dies Irae" as part of the Gotha Library Scholarship. She writes science fiction/fantasy as well as autofiction, and in both areas deals primarily with social class thinking and the role of women. She has received several awards for her work, including the hr2 Literature Prize, the Berlin Prize for Science Fiction and, most recently, the Robert Gernhardt Prize of the State of Hesse. Her debut novel "Homo Femininus" was published in 2020, followed by her second novel "Manchmal weißt du, was geschehen wird" in spring 2025.
