Dr Paul Franke is a historian at the Philipps University of Marburg and Associate Researcher at the Centre Marc Bloch in Berlin. He studied history in Bielefeld and completed his doctorate as part of the International Max Planck Research School "Moral Economies of Modern Societies" at the MPI for Human Development and the Humboldt University of Berlin. He was an Eadington Fellow at the International Center for Gaming Research at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley. His research interests include economic history as cultural history, consumer history, urban history and global history. His book "Feeling Lucky" was published by Palgrave McMillan in 2023.
